MEET DR. JEN
Dr. Jennifer Ukwu, a native of Texas, was inspired to pursue medicine after witnessing disparities in her ancestral country Nigeria. She knew there was a need for a preventative medicine and medical education in the presence of an overabundance of natural resources. After completing her Bachelor’s degree and graduating cum laude from the University of Houston, Jennifer went on to complete her medical degree at UT Southwestern medical school in Dallas. She then completed her family medicine training at the Memorial Family Medicine Residency program in Houston.
Dr. Ukwu treats patients of all ages for acute and chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, weight control, nutrition management and women’s health. Her clinical interests include women’s Health, holistic medicine and preventative care. She is a current member of the Harris County Medical Society, American Academy of Family Physicians, and the American Medical Association. Dr. Ukwu enjoys partnering with each patient on their health journey. Her favorite part of practicing medicine is helping patients enrich their lives beyond prescriptions and interventions and having the opportunity to empower patients and their families with the knowledge they seek. Together, her and her patients are able to develop the best plan of care, based on clinical evidence. In her spare time, she enjoys exercising, traveling and community enrichment.
Dr. Jennifer Ukwu, MD is a Board Certified Family Medicine Physician.
